Design Eye: Brains & Beauty

It's always inspiring to meet amazing women who transition with ease between left and right brain thinking. Today's Design Eye feature is the Asheville apartment of Michelle B, a prime example of a woman with rocket-science brains and great style. Michelle is a nurse anesthetist and, as you can see by her apartment, she has a wonderful design esthetic. Isn't it a beautiful place?

Perfectly sized, the beautiful, multi-colored, mid-century Rya rug served as her design starting-point. Her sofa, chairs and excellent leather ottoman (serving as a coffee table) are new, and the dining chairs and Klee museum poster from Vendarie are vintage.

She brought together the combo living/dining space of her apartment with simplicty, a great colorway, and lots of plants!

Michelle loves Tennen incense sticks. She burns them in this fabulous East Fork Pottery incense burner.

Love these Ikea bar stools in this space. Of course, I love the whole apartment! And her fresh cut flowers are so perfect and pretty.

Michelle balances color and neutrals.  The result is a streamlined and cozy place to live and have friends over. The linens and alpaca pillows from Vendarie are so soft, silky and peaceful.

Michelle in her kitchen ... brains and beauty!
